School Policy
2007-2008

Tuition -

Tuition is due in full at registration or by payment plan. If payment plan is chosen, payment must be made on or before the first lesson of each month. All payments must be received by the 10th of the month or a late payment fee will be added to your statement ($10 late fee). Tuition is not adjusted because of unattended lessons. All tuition and registration fees are non-refundable. A $20.00 fee will be charged on all returned checks.

Family Discounts: 2 students 10%, 3 or more students 20%

If a family has 2 students enrolled, each student has a separate tuition. Both tuitions are added together and the family discount is subtracted from the initial total of the two tuitions.

Please make checks payable to

Las Vegas, NV 89123

Drop Policy –

A written 30-day notice is required to drop a class. You will be responsible for tuition (and will be billed) until a written drop notice is given.

Classes are arranged for students based on age and ability. During the year, students may be transferred to other classes if it is necessary and in the best interest of the student. Many factors are considered in determining placement of a student. Children are placed into the next level based on ability, attitude, consistency in work, and emotional readiness.

Class Dates –

Classes take place each Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and will begin on July 1st, 2007. There will be no classes the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Spring Break. We will break for Christmas and classes will resume the week of January 2nd. Visit this space regularly, as the schedule may change.

Class Descriptions –

Second Language classes for your child will improve his or her overall communicative abilities and give your child a global advantage. Please, review the Student Expectations Supplement (course descriptions, curriculum goals, high priority objectives, classroom responsibilities, and required supplies).

REMEMBER - НАПОМНЯНЕ

No gum is allowed in the classroom.

Pick up/Drop off – ОСТАВЯНЕ И ВЗЕМАНЕ НА УЧЕНИЦИТЕ

  • Parents are responsible for delivering their child to the teachers at the time of class.
  • All students are expected to take a seat in the waiting area to wait for class to start or to be picked up.
  • No running around.
  • Students should take care of their restroom needs before class starts.
  • Parents may wait for students at the chairs in the waiting area.
  • Guest passes may be purchased for non-member siblings who desire to play while waiting.
  • Parents, please supervise your younger children at all times.
  • If you are a little late in picking up your child, the child will be expected to wait inside the classroom with the teacher until you arrive. We ask this because we can’t be responsible for your children, if they’re not in our sight.

Parents’ Responsibilities –

During times of discouragement parental support is vital. The discipline required to learn a new language comes not only from within the child, but from his/her parents. Regular attendance, willing participation and eagerness to take what he/she is given and make it his/her own, are qualities that carry youngsters through many lessons in life.

Several times throughout the year, and especially at recital time, we will be asking for parent volunteers. The involvement of parents is very important. When we need you most is at recital time. Please start considering now how you can help out at recital time. We have provided a number of ways to watch the performance while you are helping out. We will sign up volunteers for recital in the spring and will host a Recital Tea to go over the responsibilities for the recital weekend.

Class Visitation –

Parents accompanied by very young visitors are not allowed in the classroom with the student to observe class other than during the week of the Annual Recital preparation (Parent Visitation Week). The presence of young siblings who are not enrolled in the FBS program is a distraction to the students during class. It is important for parents to see their child’s learning progress, however please try not to distract your child or the class.
